Traceability of Fisheries Products

August 20, 2017 By Al Smart

5.1 Traceable and Legal

Step 1: Review performance of current monitoring and surveillance mechanisms for product movement. Review has been complete.

Step 2: Catch documentation is available that at a minimum includes: species, volume, fish area, gear type, bill of sale, etc., shared with relevant government agencies and is available for public review. Catch documentation is verified and is available for review with evidence that it has been shared among government agencies and is easily available.

Step 3: Traceability program (paper or electronic) that links vessel data through to all steps of supply chain (middleman, processor, distributor). Traceability system verified.
